5 from 1-69, plus 1 Powerball from 1-26
The US Powerball format
Powerball takes five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball from a separate pool of 1 to 26. Choosing five from 69 can be done in 11,238,513 ways. Each of those can be paired with any of the 26 Powerballs, which gives 292,201,338 possible tickets and jackpot odds of 1 in 292,201,338.
| Pool | Pick | From | Combinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main numbers | 5 | 1 to 69 | 11,238,513 |
| Powerball | 1 | 1 to 26 | 26 |
| Whole ticket | 292,201,338 |
The single Powerball does a lot of the work. Matching the five white balls without it is 1 in 11,238,513. On its own, the Powerball matches one line in 26, and requiring it as well multiplies the main odds by exactly 26.
US or Australian Powerball
Two games on our list share the name. This page uses the US one. Australia’s Powerball is 7 from 1-35, plus 1 Powerball from 1-20, which works out to 1 in 134,490,400, so a line generated for one will not fit the other’s ticket. The Australian game is still available in the menu above.
The two US pools are drawn independently, and the generator does the same: five distinct white balls from 1 to 69, then a Powerball from 1 to 26 on its own. Because the ranges overlap, a line such as 12, 30, 44, 51, 66 with a Powerball of 12 is perfectly valid. The repeat is not an error, and it does not change the odds.
Choosing at random
A quick pick has the same 1 in 292,201,338 as any numbers you choose. Where it differs is in who else holds the line. Dates stop at 31, and 38 of the 69 white balls are higher than that, so lines made of birthdays crowd into the lower part of the range and winning ones get shared more often. A random Powerball line keeps all five white balls at 31 or under just 1.5% of the time.

Where the randomness comes from
This tool runs entirely in your browser, using its built in cryptographic random number generator. Nothing you type is sent to us, nothing is stored, and each result is thrown away the moment you leave the page. Numbers are drawn without the rounding bias that the usual shortcut introduces, so every outcome is as likely as every other.
Because nothing is recorded, a result here proves nothing to anyone afterwards. If you need a drawing that other people have to accept, for a prize, a campaign or an audit, use Winner Picker, which publishes each result on a permanent link with a signed record anyone can check.
