5 from 1-50, plus 2 Euro numbers from 1-12
The same shape as EuroMillions
Eurojackpot asks for five numbers from 1 to 50 and two Euro numbers from 1 to 12. That is the same format as EuroMillions, and so the same arithmetic: 2,118,760 ways to fill the main five, 66 possible pairs of Euro numbers, and 139,838,160 tickets in all. The jackpot odds are 1 in 139,838,160 in both games.
| Pool | Pick | From | Combinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main numbers | 5 | 1 to 50 | 2,118,760 |
| Euro numbers | 2 | 1 to 12 | 66 |
| Whole ticket | 139,838,160 |
Broken down, the two Euro numbers alone match one line in 66, because there are 66ways to choose two from twelve (12 × 11 / 2). The main five alone are 1 in 2,118,760.
Neighbors are common
A line with two numbers next to each other, such as 23 and 24, can look less random than one spread evenly over the slip. In a five-from-50 draw it is ordinary: 35.3% of random Eurojackpot lines contain at least one consecutive pair. A quick pick will often give you one.
The total of the main five behaves like the total of dice. It averages 127.5 on a random line, and sums near that come up most because the most combinations add up to them. The extremes are single lines: only 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 adds up to 15, and only 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 adds up to 240. The 2d6 page shows the same effect with two dice.
What picking at random does and does not do
Each of the 139,838,160 tickets has the same chance, whoever or whatever chose it. The effect of a random pick is on the players you might share with. Of the 2,118,760 possible sets of main numbers, 169,911 use only 1 to 31, the numbers a line of birthdays is limited to. A random line lands among them 8.0% of the time; a date-based line always does, along with everyone else who picked dates.

Where the randomness comes from
This tool runs entirely in your browser, using its built in cryptographic random number generator. Nothing you type is sent to us, nothing is stored, and each result is thrown away the moment you leave the page. Numbers are drawn without the rounding bias that the usual shortcut introduces, so every outcome is as likely as every other.
Because nothing is recorded, a result here proves nothing to anyone afterwards. If you need a drawing that other people have to accept, for a prize, a campaign or an audit, use Winner Picker, which publishes each result on a permanent link with a signed record anyone can check.
